Purpose

The intercompany treasury management in
Bradford Metropolitan District Council is less than optimal as the
Council is borrowing and paying interest associated with the
working capital loan/ payments to the Bradford Children and
Families Trust. This is ultimately resulting in excess funds in the
Bradford Children and Families Trust bank account that are
generating significantly lower rates of deposit interest than the
Councils cost of borrowing.

This Decision notice is to record the approval
for the authorisation of the working capital cash value to be
reduced from £14,191,666.67 to £5,000,000.00.
