Purpose

To approve the delivery/construction
expenditure of the Silsden – Kildwick Towpath scheme now that
CBMDC has obtained approval as part of the Active Travel Fund 4E
provided by central government via the West Yorkshire Combined
Authority.
The scheme is being developed in partnership with the Canals and
Rivers Trust (Landowner), North Yorkshire Council (delivery of
section in its administrative boundary) and CBMDC. North Yorkshire
Council have separately secured £974,456 funding to allow the
total scheme delivery costs of £2,027,885 to be
achieved.

Content

i) To approve a programme of Active Travel
interventions and expenditure as detailed within this
document,
ii) To approve the preparation and advertisement of any associated
Traffic Regulation Orders, Speed Limit Orders, Pedestrian Crossing
schemes and Traffic Calming schemes.
iii) To give consideration to any objections arising from the
promotion of the schemes or, in the event of there being no valid
objections, to implement the schemes as advertised and seal any
Traffic Regulation Orders or Speed Limit Orders.
iv) To approve that the Council enters into an addendum to the
existing Grant Funding Agreement with WYCA for the draw down of
third-party funding totalling £1,053,429.
