North Park Road, Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders (ETRO’s) for a oneway traffic flow and revised waiting restrictions
May 20, 2025 Strategic Director, Place (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Concerns have been raised regarding congestion
issues on North Park Road during peak visitor times for the
adjacent Lister Park. The Park is also set to become the venue for
a number of events associated with the ‘2025 City of
Culture’. In order to prevent ongoing congestion issues it is
proposed to implement an experimental one-way system and revise
existing waiting restrictions to help with traffic flow and create
additional parking spaces where possible.
Content
i) That authorisation be given to prepare and
advertise Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders (ETRO’s) for
the proposed One-Way system and revised waiting restrictions on
North Park Road.
ii) That any valid objections to the Orders be given consideration
by the Strategic Director Place and the Portfolio Holder -
Regeneration, Planning and Transport, before a decision is made on
whether or not to convert the experimental Order to a permanent
Traffic Regulation Order
