Purpose

Approval is sought for the preparation and
advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) proposing the
introduction of No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on B6283
Wheatley Lane, Ben Rhydding.
These restrictions are considered necessary to mitigate the impact
of on-street parking associated with the new Starbucks development,
located at the signalised junction of the A65 and Wheatley Lane.
The site’s vehicular access is situated on Wheatley
Lane.
Currently the junction experiences significant congestion during
peak periods. Any additional on street parking would likely
exacerbate impact traffic flow, queuing, reduce junction
efficiency, and compromise road safety. The proposed restrictions
aim to ensure that all visitors to the development utilise the
designated off-street parking within the site boundary or are
parked sufficiently away from the junction not to be of and
detriment. This measure would also provide benefits to local
residents by
maintaining clear access and improving overall traffic
conditions
