Purpose

This Decision Sheet presents 5 formal
objections, received in response to the formal advertising of a
Speed Limit Order (SLO) on Moor Road, Ilkley. These proposals (as
identified within Drawing No. P/HS/THN/105415/CON-1A (attached as
Appendix A)) intend to change the speed limit from 30mph to 40mph
on a section of the moorland road.
In 2022/23 the speed limit was reduced along the previous 60mph
speed limit along Moor Road and Hangingstone Road, Ilkley to a
blanket 30mph speed limit. This experimental reduction along the
full length of the route has resulted in some road safety issues,
especially along the straighter section between the Cow

i) That the proposed change in speed limit on
Moor Rd, Ilkley (as shown within
Drawing No. P/HS/THN/105415/CON-1A (attached in Appendix A of this
Decision
Sheet)) be approved and implemented with immediate effect.
ii) That the objectors be advised accordingly.
