Full council record
Purpose

1. Planning permission has been granted for
the development of the Energy Site with access off Thornton
Road.
2. Access to the development will be via a priority
‘T’-junction with Thornton Road. The proposed energy
centre will generate the heat required by the Bradford Energy
Network. The proposals will contribute significantly to the
achievement of net-zero by Bradford and create a lower cost way for
Bradford to transition to net-zero. The proposals are therefore
fundamental to the development of Bradford’s Net Zero
Infrastructure and will make a significant positive contribution
towards the council’s objectives of becoming the leading
clean growth city.
3. In order to facilitate safe vehicular movements and visibility
splay in the vicinity around the development, it is proposed to
promote a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to introduce ‘No
Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions on lengths of Thornton
Road

Content

i) That authorisation be given to prepare and
advertise a Traffic Regulation Order for waiting restrictions on
lengths of Thornton Road (including the junction of Water
Lane).
ii) That any valid objections to the Orders be submitted to the
Bradford West Area Committee for consideration or, in the event of
there being no valid objections the Order be made, sealed and
implemented as advertised
