Purpose

The Council has received an offer of
£175k funding from the Local Authority Treescapes Fund (LATF)
for tree planting in parks and open spaces in specific wards to
increase canopy cover. This report sets out the procurement
strategy for a partner to deliver up to five Miyawaki forests
funded by this grant. 1.2 This report seeks the Portfolio Holder
for Environment’s approval to Direct Award a contract,
following a negotiated tender process, to enable the successful
delivery of the Miyawaki Forest, as further detailed in the
accompanying Part 2 report
