Content

That the proposal to
vary the Primary and Secondary intervention contract as set out in
section 1.1 of this report, for the remainder of the contract
period, i.e. up to 30th September 2027, be supported.
This reduction is estimated to be a saving of £210k p.a. (a
whole contract savings value of £472k), excluding the value
of any annual inflationary increases. The proposed commencement
date of the variation will be 1st July 2025, with an end date will
be 30th September 2027.

Reasons for the decision

To vary the Primary and Secondary Intervention
services (specifically the Dementia Respite Pathway) contract for
the remainder of the contract period (up to 30th
September 2027). This proposal, which the provider is in agreement
with, will significantly improve service efficiency, ensure agile
commissioning arrangements in response to service actual demand and
open access of respite to all carers. The proposal will reduce the
value of the block element of the contract while not limiting the
capacity of the service to respond to demand outside the block
contract and the service provider has assured commissioning of
being able to respond to any additional demand. The proposed
variation is a reduction in contract value equating to a total of
£472k assuming a contract variation start of 1st
of July 2025.
