That the contract for Family Support Services with Bromley Mencap be approved for renewal, via Direct Award, for a further period of 18 months commencing 1 October 2026 at an estimated value of £59,168 for the renewal period (cumulative value of £254,644).

Reasons for the decision

Bromley Mencap deliver a highly specialised autism family support service for children and young people, which is critical to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of service users and their families.  The provider has developed unique expertise, evidence-based approaches, and established, trusted relationships with families and partner agencies.  This depth of specialism and continuity cannot be replicated by alternative providers within the market.  Disruption to this provision would pose significant risks, including deterioration in outcomes for service users and increased safeguarding concerns.  The loss of this specialist support would create a substantial gap in provision, with no equivalent alternative available.
