That the ongoing work to evaluate options for
a new 200-place secondary special school in Bromley be noted.
 
That the procurement of professional
consultants to carry out a full feasibility into the proposal for a
new Bromley delivered special school and, if the scheme proceeds,
project management of the project to completion be agreed.
 
That a budget allocation of £950k to
cover the consultant activities and initial survey and legal costs
associated with the project be agreed, funded by the Basic Need
Programme. It is estimated that the costs associated with the
feasibility will be £350k.
 
That authority be delegated to the Director of
Education to award the contract for Consultancy Services for
Bromley Delivered Special School following completion of the
procurement process.
 
That it be noted that following the completion
of the feasibility, the scheme will be subject to a fully-costed
appraisal by the Council’s Executive before being added as a
scheme to the Council’s capital programme.
