The Portfolio Holder for
Transport, Highways and Road Safety approved the Junction
improvements at the roundabout of South Eden Park Road / Stone Park
Avenue / Wickham Road / Hayes Lane / Wickham Way (Chinese
Roundabout) as detailed in section 3 of this report.
 
The Portfolio Holder approved
the proposal that was detailed in ‘Option 1’ of the
report.
The
Portfolio Holder agreed that any minor changes to the design should
be delegated to the Director of Environment and Public Protection,
in consultation with the Portfolio Holder.

Reasons for the decision

The Chinese Roundabout Safety Scheme report
sought approval to make safety improvements at the Chinese
Roundabout as outlined in the report. The proposals were aimed at
reducing the number of  collisions at
this location and to generally provide a safer environment for all
road users.
