The Corporate Parenting Board monitors and reviews the
services provided to Camden’s children in care and care
experienced young people with all Board Members taking collective
responsibility for promoting and ensuring positive experiences and
outcomes for these children. The Board is not a formal
decision-making body.
The Board provides a forum for elected Members, council
officers and partners to receive regular data and information
relating to children looked after and care experienced young people
and the actions being taken to improve these experiences and
outcomes.
The Board also monitors the implementation of the
Corporate Parenting
Strategy 2025-2028 to ensure that the promises
made are delivered and that children in care and care experienced
young people living in and outside the borough are supported to
achieve their potential.
Local authorities have a duty under the Children Act 1989 to
safeguard and promote the welfare of the children they look after,
wherever they are placed.
Meetings of the Corporate Parenting Board are not open to the
public and the agenda is only available to members of the
Board.
