Purpose

To consider public realm proposals around Belgrove House, on Belgrove Street, Crestfield Street, St Chad’s Street, Argyle Square Gardens and Argyle Street. These will include walking and accessibility, cycling, junction, and public realm changes.

Decision

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Environment & Sustainability.

DECISION –

THAT having considered this report, including the design amendments made in response to feedback received in the public consultation, the public Consultation Summary Report (Appendix D) the Equality Impact Assessment (Appendix E), and having had due regard to the needs set out in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 the Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden agrees to:

(i)                 Approve the recommendations in this report, including to publish a notice of the proposals to implement the Safe and Healthy streets changes in the Argyle Square Area, subject to detailed design work, and compliance with all relevant statutory and procedural requirements including a TMO Consultation;

(ii)                Delegate authority the Director of Environment and Sustainability, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden, to take further actions and decisions subject to compliance with all statutory and procedural requirements required to deliver the permanent safe and healthy street changes having considered any objections received; and

(iii)              Authorise the Chief Engineer to take any further decisions relating to the detailed design and implementation of this scheme.
