Purpose

To consider approval of the post-consultation Climate Action Plan 2026-2030, which outlines the actions that will be taken towards tackling the climate crisis in Camden.

Decision

RESOLVED –

THAT, having considered the engagement set out in section 5 and the Equalities Impact Assessment in Appendix 2 and having had due regard to the needs set out in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010:

(i) THAT the Climate Action Plan 2026 - 2030 in Appendix 1 be approved;

(ii) THAT subject to (iii) below, it be noted that the Climate Action Plan will be delivered under existing delegations to officers set out in the Constitution; and

(iii) THAT, should existing delegations to officers set out in the Constitution not cover the actions and steps required to put the plan into effect, authority be delegated to the Executive Director Investment, Place and Opportunity to take formal decisions following consultation with the relevant Cabinet Member to authorise projects outlined under the seven programme themes of the Climate Action Plan to expedite delivery.
