Purpose

To consider taking a decision to deliver pedestrian, bus and public realm improvements along West End Lane, following public consultation.

Decision

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Environment & Sustainability.

DECISION –

THAT the Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden, having considered the rationale and criteria for the proposals in this report, including the public consultation summary report responses set out in Section 6, the Equality Impact Assessment (Appendix B) and having due regard to the needs set out in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 and subject to compliance with relevant statutory requirements and detailed design:

i)            approves the proposal to implement permanent changes in the West End Lane area, and the design amendments that were made in response to feedback received in the public consultation, subject to compliance with relevant statutory requirements;

ii)            Delegates to the Chief Engineer the authority to take any further decisions required for the implementation of the recommended proposals, including detailed design stages and consideration of any objections to statutory traffic management order consultation; and

iii)            Delegates authority to the Director of Environment and Sustainability, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden, to take any further decisions required to deliver the scheme beyond the proposals approved in this report, such as consideration of any objections to statutory consultation processes.
