Purpose

This report seeks approval to award a contract to undertake an electrical upgrade, remove the gas supply and complete associated fire safety works at Bacton Tower

This report is coming to the Executive Director Homes and Communities because it’s in line with the Constitution through the Contract Standing Orders (CSOs).

This work has been identified through fire risk assessments and the development of the Building Safety Case (BSC). The BSC file for Bacton Tower has been reviewed by the Building Safety Regulator and a Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) has been issued. Prior works at Bacton Tower include the replacement of flat entrance doors to the correct standard.

The award of this Contract to Multi Installations Ltd is based on their submission being the most advantageous tender in respect of the criteria set out in the Invitation to Tender, for the sum of £3,674,925.98, with a contract period of minimum 18 months.

Decision

THAT the contract award for Bacton Tower electrical upgrade, gas removal and fire safety works to Multi Installations Ltd for a value of £3,674,925.98 with a proposed start date of August 2026 and with a contract period of minimum 18 months be approved.
