Purpose
This report asks the Shareholder Representative under the Council’s Governance Agreement with Camden Living Group Ltd (CLG) to:
• Give Council Reserved Matters approval to the appointment of Wendy Stokes as a Director of Camden Living Housing Association Limited (CLHA); and
• Note the intention of Sara Waller, the current Chair of CLHA, to resign as a Director of CLHA; and nominate Wendy Stokes to act as interim Chair of CLHA.
The recommendations will help to ensure makeup and management of the Boards of the CLG companies continue to comprise an appropriate spread of expertise and experience and will contribute to We Make Camden, including through increasing the Council’s capacity to create genuinely affordable homes through the Community Investment Programme by financing delivery outside of the Housing Revenue Account (HRA).
Decision
THAT, as the Council’s nominated Shareholder Representative for Camden Living, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for New Homes and Community Investment, the Cabinet Member for Better Homes, the Cabinet Member for Finance and Cost of Living, the Executive Director Corporate Services and the Borough Solicitor:
(i) Reserved Matters approval be given under the Council’s Governance Agreement with Camden Living Group Ltd to the appointment of Wendy Stokes as a Director of CLG’s subsidiary Registered Provider company Camden Living Housing Association Limited (CLHA) (subject to CLG Reserved Matters and all necessary company board approval); and
(ii) The intention of Sara Waller, the current Chair of CLHA, to resign as a Director of CLHA and nominate Wendy Stokes to act as interim Chair of CLHA be noted.
