Purpose

This report seeks approval to commission primary and secondary Personal, Social, Health, Economics (PSHE) programmes.

Following a successful pilot in Camden schools, the PSHE programme focusing on healthy relationships and domestic violence awareness demonstrated significant positive outcomes. The initiative aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills to foster respectful relationships, recognise signs of abuse, and seek support when needed.

Importantly, these programmes contribute to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) strategic work with the aim to prevent harm and address a gap identified by PSHE leads and School Headteachers, ensuring alignment with national safeguarding objectives.

The programme will reach a minimum of 10 primary and 8 secondary schools per academic year, creating a sustainable and scalable impact across the borough.

This report is coming to the Director of Health and Wellbeing because is coming to the Director of Health and Wellbeing … in accordance with Camden’s Contract Standing Orders (CSO) C1, which stipulate that contracts with an estimated value between £45,001 and £150,000 (inclusive of VAT) are to be approved and awarded by a Chief Officer. In this instance, the relevant Chief Officer is the Director of Health and Wellbeing.

Decision

THAT the Director Health and Wellbeing agrees the award of the contract to Tender Education and Arts to deliver Personal, Social, Health, Economic (PSHE) education programmes for a period of 36 months for the sum of £50,000 per annum (£150,000 in aggregate including contract extensions).
