Purpose

This report also provides an update following the Director of Environment and Sustainability’s March 2026 decision, including the outcome of subsequent operator engagement undertaken.

Decision

THAT the Director of Environment and Sustainability, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden, is asked to approve the following proposed temporary car club operator arrangements and associated incentive measures with participating car club operators (to support the rapid reoccupation of vacant car club bays and the continued operation and expansion of car club provision within the borough):
 

1)     Up to £9,000 funded by the Council’s Healthy Travel Choices programme as a one-off contribution to support discounted user rates offered by participating car club operators

2)     The temporary deployment of ten vehicles across participating operators into vacant car club bays for six months [with any continuation beyond this period subject to performance (level of usage)]
