Purpose

This report seeks approval of the appropriation for planning purposes of land held in the General Fund in order to facilitate the redevelopment of both sites 120-136 Camley Street and 3-30 Cedar Way for the Camley Street regeneration scheme.

This report is coming to the Executive Director Investment, Place and Opportunity [following consultation with the Cabinet Member for New Homes and Community Investment, the Director of Development, the Director of Finance, the Director of Environment and Sustainability, the Head of Property and the Borough Solicitor] for approval in line with decision is in line with the Cabinet delegation authorised on 7 September 2022 (reference SC/2022/47), as amended by the decision of the Leader on 20th March 2026 (reference IPO/2026/05).

Decision

THAT the Executive Director Investment, Place and Opportunity [following consultation with the Cabinet Member for New Homes and Community Investment, the Director of Development, the Director of Finance, the Director of Environment and Sustainability, the Head of Property and the Borough Solicitor] approves the appropriation of the land and buildings as shown edged red on the plan at Appendix A currently held within the Council’s General Fund to planning purposes under section 122 of the Local Government Act 1972 to facilitate the redevelopment of the land in accordance with planning permission.
