Purpose

In 2009, a section 33 (of the
National Health Services (Wales) Act 2006) agreement was formally
entered into with Cardiff & Vale University Health Board and
the Vale of Glamorgan Council. The agreement allows the integrated
commissioning of services through a pooled budget arrangement in
the delivery of medical aid equipment to support independence,
support informal and formal care, avoid hospital admission and to
support discharge, for the forementioned partners.

Cardiff Council is the named
lead organisation, delivering the service on behalf of the
partners. The current agreement has been in place since
2009 and the service continues to
operate under the terms of the original agreement but the initial term has expired and
therefore the agreement needs to be reviewed and re-signed by the
partners.

Approval is therefore sought to
proceed with the updated Cardiff and Vale Joint Equipment Service
(JES) Section 33 Agreement between Cardiff County Council, Vale of
Glamorgan Council and Cardiff and Vale University Health
Board.
