Purpose

The Council commenced
preparation of the RLDP in March 2021. Consultation to date has
been undertaken on the Vision, Issues and Objectives for the plan,
Strategic Growth and Spatial Options, 
Preferred Strategy and Deposit Plan. The comments received during
the Deposit Plan consultation have been considered and together
with responses are outlined in the consultation report. The next
stage is submission of the plan for examination by an independent
Inspector together with the responses received to the Deposit Plan
and supporting documents and evidence base.
 

Content

RESOVLED: that
 
(1)              
the content of
paragraph 10 and Appendix A be noted and accepted and it be agreed
that the Deposit RLDP together with all supporting documentation
listed in Appendix B are forwarded to Council for final approval
and then submitted to the Welsh Government and Planning
Inspectorate in accordance with the LDP Regulations; and
 
(2)              
that in accordance with Welsh Government guidance
and in order to facilitate the efficient operation of the
examination process, that Council be recommended to
delegate authority to the Council’s Director of Planning, Transport and
Environment, Head of Planning, Operational Manager for Major
Development and Placemaking and the Group Leader for Planning
Policy to permit effective dialogue between
the independent Inspector and Council representatives
subject to
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Strategic
Planning as detailed in paragraph 14 of this report.
