Reasons for the decision

Since the commencement
of the procurement, the Authority’s requirements have been
reviewed in line with WRAP an advisory body supporting the
development of an overall waste strategy for Cardiff. The
specification now requires the inclusion of an additional waste
stream to support the front-line collections of flexible plastics,
embedded in the new kerbside sort system. In addition, there are
various updates to the tender documentation required. Therefore,
the intention is to abandon the current procurement, and a new
procurement will be carried out with a new specification and
revised Contract Value as per the conditions set out in the ITT
below:
 
The
Contracting Authority reserves the right to abandon the tender
process at any point. The Contracting Authority is not liable for
any costs resulting from any cancellation of this tender process
nor for any other costs incurred by those tendering for this
Contract.
