Appendices 1, 3-6 and 8 to this report are exempt from
publication because they contain information of the kind described
in paragraphs 14, 16 and 21 of parts 4 and 5 of Schedule 12 A to
the Local Government Act 1972
 
AGREED
that Wates Construction Limited formally be
appointed as the Main Contractor and approval be given to enter
into a JCT 2016 Design and Build Contract (with amendments) to
build 156 Modular Units at the Former Gas Works Site, Ferry Road,
as part of the Cardiff Living Programme for a contract sum detailed
in Appendix 1. Furthermore, the Deed of Variation provided by Wates
Construction Limited be approved to formally acknowledge the
updated list of sites approved to be delivered through the Cardiff
Living programme.
 

Reasons for the decision

All contractual matters have
been resolved relating to the JCT form of contract and the updated
Contract Sum finalised and agreed. Therefore, we are now in a
position to enter into the formal JCT 2016 Design & Build
contract (with amendments) to progress the completion of the
development. The Deed of Variation provides the updated list of
development sites to be delivered through the Cardiff Living
programme including the Gasworks meanwhile use.
