Purpose

This report outlines the work completed with care
experienced children and young people at a national summit,
supported by the Welsh Government and leading children’s
advocacy services, to develop a national charter.

 

The Charter sets out shared principles and promises
that all public bodies and their leaders should follow when
providing services to care-experienced children and young people.
This report outlines these principles and promises, and seeks
agreement for Cardiff Council to sign up to these.

RESOLVED that the contents of the Corporate Parenting Charter be
noted, and the ‘principles’ and ‘promises’,
as set out in the Charter, be adopted.
