Purpose

The Transport White Paper and
the One Planet Cardiff Strategy sets out the need to increase
electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the city as part of
an integrated transport strategy.
 
The Road Map sets out the scale
of the infrastructure requirement from all sectors, and the role
that the Council will take in enabling further infrastructure for
the public provision of charge points.
 
The Road Map sets out that the
focus or the council over the next few years will be to increase
public infrastructure provision in residential areas of the city
with low levels of off-street parking.
 

Content

RESOLVED: that
 

1.      the Electric Vehicle Road
Map be adopted and published as the Council’s strategic
approach to delivering Council supported public electric vehicle
infrastructure.

 

2.      authority be delegated to
the Director of Planning, Transport and Environment, in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Strategic
Planning & Transport and the Corporate Director of Resources,
to implement the delivery of further public electric vehicle
Infrastructure in accordance with the road map.
