Standards Committee — Carmarthenshire

The Carmarthenshire Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct for councillors and other representatives. It advises on and monitors the Members' Code of Conduct, and provides training on these matters. The committee also handles reports from tribunals and the monitoring officer, and exercises these functions for community councils within Carmarthenshire. It has the power to grant dispensations to members, allowing them to participate in council business even when they have a prejudicial interest, provided they act within the terms of the dispensation.
