The Safeguarding & Special Educational Needs Sub (Community & Children's Services) Committee oversees the City of London Corporation's safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults needing support and protection. It ensures the council acts as a corporate parent to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in public care.
The committee monitors the performance of the Department of Community & Children's Services in its safeguarding work and makes recommendations for improvement to the Grand Committee. It also considers the views of relevant service users in its functions.
