Purpose
The Council is required to
undertake Legionella safety assessment of our residential blocks
(including Sheltered, Special Sheltered/Extra Care blocks and other
high-risk properties/blocks/sites). This will include leaseholder
units where applicable.
Assessment of water tanks,
recommendation of works for improvement to ensure compliance with
Water Hygiene testing and inspection in line with the Approved Code
of Practice & Guidance Document L8, (ACOP L8) and HSG274, from
an approved programme of works to Croydon Councils domestic and
assisted living units.

Having carefully read and
considered the report and the requirements of the Council’s
public sector equality duty in relation to the issues detailed in
the body of the reports, the Cabinet Member for Homes in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance AGREED
to:
Approve the commissioning
intentions and procurement strategy for the commissioning of a
contractor to deliver the required Water Hygiene testing and
inspection assessment of all water tanks installed within all
residential units of properties via the Most Suitable procurement
route for a period of five (5) years with an estimated aggregated
contract value of £1,500,000 (One million and five hundred
thousand pounds) and an annual contract value of £300,000
(three hundred thousand pounds).
