Purpose

This report will set out the
outcome of the procurement process the Council is currently
undertaking in relation to the commissioning of an experienced
service provider to run a children’s home and deliver
registered services; in accordance with the procurement strategy
report approved by the Cabinet Member for Children and Young People
on 10th December 2024 ref: 0324CYP.
 
The report asks for a decision
to approve the contract award to the recommended preferred tenderer
to run the children’s home for a duration of 7
years.
 
The name of the successful
provider will be published following contract award.

Having carefully read and
considered the Part A report, and associated confidential Part B
report, and the requirements of the Council’s public sector
equality duty in relation to the issues detailed in the body of the
reports, the Corporate Director of Children, Young People &
Education AGREED to:
 
Award of the contract for the
provision of children’s residential care for a period of 7
years with annual break clauses to the preferred bidder named in
the Part B report and for the contract value stated in the Part B
report.
