Purpose

The purpose of this decision /
report for consideration is to recommend the introduction of
various road safety proposals identified as a
result of the 1) WSP Transport Study, and 2) engagement with
the Kenley Community Action Group. The engagement included previous
site meetings with ward councillors and resident representatives in
February 2023.  These proposals
are:
 

Introductionof “No waiting at any
time” restrictions from the Old Lodge Lane Roundabout for a
length of 77 metres in a southern direction.

 

Introduction of 25
metres of free parking bays on Hayes Lane (Aerodrome section) just
south of the fire access gate of the Aerodrome

 

Introduction of a
total of 211.5 metres of free parking bays, which is to be split as
11.5 metres and 200 metres, along Hayes Lane from the pedestrian
access point of the Aerodrome up to the boundary with Surrey County
Council.

 

Content

For reasons set out in this
report, the Corporate Director of Sustainable Communities,
Regeneration and Economic Recovery in consultation with the
Executive Mayor AGREED to:
 
2.2      Agree to the proposals as set
out in paragraph 1.1.
 

(Introductionof “No waiting at any
time” restrictions from the Old Lodge Lane Roundabout for a
length of 77 metres in a southern direction.

2.3       Delegate authority
to the Senior Traffic Order Officer proceed to statutory
consultation, and subject to consideration of any objections which
may be received on giving public notice of the proposals, to make
the necessary Traffic Management Orders under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) in respect of the above
proposals.
 
2.4       Note
that any objections received on the giving of public notice will be
reported to the relevant decision-maker, being either the Corporate
Director, Sustainable Communities, Regeneration and Economic
Recovery, or the Executive Mayor or Cabinet (as determined by the
Executive Mayor) in accordance with the Executive Mayors Scheme of
Delegation.
