Purpose

The approved contract award
toGlendale Countryside Ltd for the provision of an arboricultural
and maintenance term service contract over a period of 5 years with
an option to extend for up to five periods of twelve months (to a
maximum of 10yrs)  with maximum total value £3,875,000 exclusive
of VAT.
 
The procurement has followed the appropriate procurement
processes with  closeworking with both
the Council’s procurement team, their technical advisor and
external legal advisor to ensure compliance with both PCR and the
Council’s Tenders and Contract Regulations (TCR). The current
supplier has been in Service since 2008 and the contract has
reached the maximum extension limit and the incumbent supplier
has  now handover the management of the
arboricutural to Glendale Ltd. The new contract allows for the
Authority to have a more robust contract management element, build
on lessons learned and prioritises’ risk to meet our Duty of
Care whilst meeting the financial challenges facing the Authority
as well as the statutory duty and support the Council corporate
priorities for our borough:

toBidder B (named in the Part B report) for the provision of an
arboricultural and maintenance term service over a period of 5
years with an option to extend for up to five periods of twelve
months with a maximum total value stated in Part
B.
