Purpose

To seek approval for the
recommended option for the current Next Generation Highways
Contract when the initial contract term ends on 30 September
2025.

Content

To agree a one-year permitted
extension to the Next Generation Highways Contract with FM Conway,
from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, at a value of £30m
which is within the original award value of £130m.
 
 
To note:
 
Although formal notification of
the contract extension needs to be issued to FM Conway six months
before the end of the initial contract period (30 March 2025),
written agreement has been received from FM Conway that the formal
notification can be delayed.
 
That the Highways & Traffic
Team are currently exploring a range of contract options beyond 1
October 2026.
