Purpose

The purpose of this report is
to consider an objection received from a resident of Kenley
following the formal consultation process on the proposal to
introduce road humps in Hayes Lane, Kenley.
 
The statutory notice for the
proposal to introduce road humps in Hayes Lane was published on
6th February 2024 giving 21 days’ notice for the
public to respond in line with section 90(c) of the Highways Act
1980. 
 
Officers have fully considered
the objection, which is detailed in this report together with the
officers’ response to the objection and
recommendations.
 
Officers do not consider the
proposed road humps to be significant in terms of its effects on
communities living or working in Hayes Lane and the surrounding
area where the proposed road humps are due to be
implemented.

For the reasons set out in the
report the Corporate Director of Sustainable Communities,
Regeneration & Economic Recovery AGREED:
 
2.1
     to Consider the
objection received to the proposals to introduce road humps in
Hayes Lane Kenley including officer responses to the
objections.
 
2.2
     to implement the
road humps in Hayes Lane, Kenley (as shown in the plan in Appendix
A Annex 2 of this report)
 
2.3        
to authorise the Road Space Manager,
Sustainable Communities, Regeneration and Economic Recovery
Directorate to implement the proposed road humps and comply
with all other statutory requirements including informing the objector of the decision.
