Full council record
Purpose
This report is to recommend
that the Council award a replacement contract for the supply of
Occupational Health
services.
Content
For the reasons set out in the
Part A report and Part B Report, the Assistant Chief Executive
AGREED:
To approve the award of a
four-year contract for the provision of occupational health
services to the provider and for the maximum contract value stated
in the Part B report.
To note the contractor name and
contract value will be released following contract
award.
Reasons for the decision
Croydon Council has a duty to
support the health and wellbeing of its employees. In doing so we
need to have an effective occupational health arrangement to reduce
sickness absence, address the underlying causes of ill health, and
support staff to return to work with reasonable adjustments.
Occupational Health (OH) services ensure staff and management have
the necessary advice and support regarding their health and
wellbeing.
A further competition call off
under the ESPO Occupational Health Services Framework (985B)
Lot 1 was run on the Council’s e-procurement portal and this
report recommends award of the contract for the provision of
Occupational Health Services for a period of 4 years from June 2025
and upon the terms detailed within this paper on the basis that the
supplier has submitted the most economically advantageous tender
for the provision of the Services.
In addition, there are a range
of services and solutions aimed at preventative care detailed in
the Part B report.
There is no minimum
commitment to spend on the contract. All services are up to the
council and schools who purchase the service to choose to buy. The
value of the contract is the expected upper limit based on the
potential full range of services the council, without needing
procure additional solutions.
Alternative options considered
Alternative options were
considered and rejected when the strategy was approved. No
alternative bids were allowed. The decision to not award was
rejected for the same reasons that no action was rejected in the
approved strategy.
