Purpose

Cabinet consideration to extend
the time frame of the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in
Croydon Town Centre

For the reasons set out in the
report and its appendices, the Executive Mayor and Cabinet
AGREED:
 
2.1 To agree the renewal of the town centre Public Space Protection
Order (PSPO), to tackle anti-social behaviour for a further three
years.
 
2.2 To amend the terms of the town centre PSPO, based on feedback
from the consultation to include the use of amplified
speakers.
 
2.3 To increase the area covered by the PSPO based on feedback from
the consultation.This will include areas to the
east of the current boundary (including Oval road and Park Hill Park), to the northwest of
the boundary (including more of London
road), to the west to include Wandle Park, and to the
southwest (including Tanfield road). SEE APPENDIX A
 
2.4 To run a consultation on the introduction of a borough-wide PSPO
addressing antisocial behaviour related to street
drinking.
