Purpose

The report sets out
recommendations from Scrutiny for the consideration of Cabinet.
These recommendations originate from the meeting of the Scrutiny
& Overview Committee on 22 July 2025.
 
Scrutiny’s
recommendations highlight potential opportunities for the Council
to enhance monitoring and evaluation of delivered work, and to find
more equitable funding solutions.
 
Should these recommendations be
taken forward, they could help deliver on the priorities in the
Executive Mayor’s Business Plan, including balancing the
Council’s books, delivering sustainable services, and
promoting good governance (Outcome 1, Priorities 1 and
4).

Content

For the reasons as set out in
this report and appendices, the Executive Mayor and Cabinet
AGREED to:
 
2.1.1. Receive the
recommendations arising from the meetings of the Scrutiny &
Overview Committee on 22 July 2025 (Appendix 1).
 
2.1.2. Provide a substantive
response to the recommendations (a Scrutiny Stage 2 Report) at the
Cabinet meeting on 3 December 2025.
