It is recommended that
The Head of Housing Development approves the award of a contract to
Charles Ramsden in accordance with Contract Standing Orders 11.01,
11.02 and 10.01 for the provision of EA/QS Services in relation to
the Dawlish & Scales Road, N17 Development.
This appointment is an important step in supporting the delivery of
new homes within the borough as part of the Council’s Housing
Delivery Programme.
The Dawlish & Scales Road scheme will transform two underused
sites into high quality family sized council homes, helping to meet
the urgent need for larger properties and contributing to a safer
and more sustainable neighbourhood.
The total cost over the life of the contract including any
extensions is £16,750 plus VAT
Reasons for the decision
The Dawlish & Scales Road, N17 development
is a location that has been identified as suitable to deliver two,
quality family sized homes, which is in high demand due to the
number of growing families on the council waiting list, and one
that has been identified to be designed to M4(3) standards to
enable a family consisting of an individual(s) with accessibility
needs that may not otherwise be able to be placed in a general
needs property.
An EA/QS is key to the contract administration under Design &
Build (D&B) contracts, ensuring the contractor meets their
contractual obligations, assessing and certifying payments,
managing change control and monitoring progress, compliance and
deadlines delivering quality homes to the high-quality standards of
Haringey Council.
Alternative options considered
No alternative options were considered as such
