I write to request your approval to the
implementation of Contract Standing Order 9.07.1 c), which provides
that a Director may award, assign, or novate contracts valued up to
£500,000 (five hundred thousand pounds). For the Assistant
Director of Housing to approve the implementation of Contract
Standing Order 9.07 .1c. and extend a contract for Inclusion.Me for
a period of 12 months from 31st October 2024 to 31st October
2025.

Reasons for the decision

The provision of Occupational Therapy support
to the Housing Delivery Team during the design and construction
process on each of our Sites is essential to ensure that we meet
all of the requirements for M4 ( 3 ) homes that are adaptable to
meet the needs of Tenants with additional support needs. This
advice is also essential to ensure that our Bespoke Homes Programme
is implemented in a compliant manner.

Alternative options considered

It would be possible to proceed without OT
support however the risk is that new homes would either not be
compliant with Town Planning obligations, or, would not be suitably
configured for the needs of Tenants with additional support needs
neither of which is considered to be an acceptable, professional
risk.
