Purpose

The insurance team has specialist requirements
for insurance litigation work from providers with extensive
experience in defending claims against local authorities arising
from many diverse types of claim. The firms on the legal panel meet
this requirement.

It is not possible to calculate the contract value for each of the
panel firms for the duration of the contract. The contract provides
a framework under which the ILC member boroughs can purchase expert
legal services and boroughs will only call off from the framework
as and when expert legal services are required. This is entirely
dependent on the nature and complexity of insurance claims against
the council and whether claims become litigated. The value of spend
with two of the firms is soon expected to reach £100k and
expenditure with the remaining two firms is expected to reach
£100k during the term of the contract.
