About

The Overview and Scrutiny Board monitors the effectiveness of scrutiny within the council and coordinates the work of sub-committees to avoid duplication and focus on priority areas. It scrutinises the council's general management, performance information, and budget, and handles any 'call-ins' of executive decisions made by councillors.

The Board's focus is strategic and policy-oriented, and it does not consider individual complaints. It examines areas such as strategy and commissioning, partnerships, customer access, finance, human resources, and social inclusion. Residents can suggest matters for the Board to examine.
