The Scrutiny Commission reviews and scrutinises the strategic direction, corporate policies, and priorities of the Leicestershire Cabinet and the Council as a whole, including the budget and the Medium Term Financial Strategy. It also oversees functions not covered by other scrutiny committees and coordinates the work of all overview and scrutiny committees.
Commissioners lead the overview and scrutiny process, determining priority issues and areas for review by time-limited Scrutiny Review Panels.
