Purpose
Following concerns raised by Melton Borough Council, Melton Mowbray Town Estate, town centre businesses and the market, the Council proposed to shorten the prohibition of vehicles restrictions within the Pedestrian and Cycle Zone in Melton Mowbray to 10am - 3pm, Except for Loading.
Additionally, due to an irregularity discovered within the original Pedestrian Zone Order on Church Street, Melton Mowbray, an update was needed to correct this anomaly. An imposition of a Pedestrian Zone At All Times for the full length of Church Street, Melton Mowbray was proposed. This was solely an order update, and therefore there would be no change on site.
Decision
To implement a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone (Except for Loading (Midnight – 10am and 3pm – Midnight)) on Nottingham Street, High Street, South Parade, Cheapside, King Street, Market Place in Melton Mowbray.
To implement a Pedestrian Zone (Except for Loading) on Church Street, Melton Mowbray.
