Purpose
At the LCR Combined Authority Meeting of 12th June 2026, it was announced that the Combined Authority wishes to launch a consultation on the proposed Mayoral Development Corporation for the Liverpool North Docks area.
The principle of creating a Mayoral Development Corporation for Liverpool North Docks was approved at this meeting, in accordance with the statutory requirements and the process approved by the Combined Authority Members a Mayoral Decision to launch the consultation is now being sought.
Decision
That in respect of the Mayoral Development Corporation – Decision to launch Consultation, Mayor Rotheram resolved that:
(a) the commencement of the consultation on the proposal to designate Liverpool North Docks as a Mayoral Development Area and to set up a Liverpool North Docks Mayoral Development Corporation be approved;
(b) the duration of the consultation as being six weeks be approved; and
(c) this will be a public consultation, to enable all residents and businesses within the proposed Mayoral Development Area to have the opportunity to respond to the consultation.
