Purpose

The Mayor will be asked to consider a report which sets out the consultation responses, respond to any significant issues and make a decision on the establishment of the Mayoral Development Corporation in Liverpool North Docks.

Decision

RESOLVED – That in relation to the Mayoral Decision: Liverpool North Docks Mayoral Development Corporation – Consultation Outcome:

(a)         The Mayor noted the outcome of the statutory consultation on the proposed Liverpool North Docks Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC);

(b)         The Mayor noted the strong level of support for the proposal demonstrated through the consultation process;

(c)          The Mayor approved the progression of the proposal for the designation of the Liverpool North Docks Mayoral Development Area and establishment of the Liverpool North Docks Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) for consideration by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority at its meeting on 25th September 2026; and

(d)         The Mayor noted the issues raised in the Consultation that are summarised at paragraph 4.3 of this report, and granted delegated authority to the Executive Director of Investment and Delivery, in consultation with the Monitoring Officer and Executive Director - Resources, to address and/or respond to these issues as part of ongoing activities relating to the establishment of the MDC.
