Scrutiny Committee

The Scrutiny Committee reviews and scrutinises decisions and actions taken by the council. It can report or make recommendations to the Council or the Cabinet. The committee has the power to request that a decision, if not yet implemented, be reconsidered by the Cabinet through the Call In Procedure.

Additionally, it fulfils the council's duties as the designated Crime and Disorder Committee under the Police and Justice Act 2006 and carries out local authority scrutiny of health matters as required by the National Health Service Act 2006.
