The role of the Safe Newcastle Board is to
create a safe Newcastle by tackling crime, alcohol, drugs,
anti-social behaviour and their impact. By working with
partners to develop effective, sustainable solutions to local
concerns, improve confidence and build stronger
communities”.
The partnership was formed following guidance
from Central Government which advised joint working between Crime
and Disorder Reduction Partnerships and Drug Action Teams.
Relationship to Police and Crime
Commissioners
There is a duty on Police and Crime
Commissioners and Safe Newcastle to build strong relationships and
work collaboratively, having regard to each other’s
priorities and where possible/appropriate their respective plans
should reflect those priorities.

Sector; Universities and Youth Offending
