The Cabinet decided on 20th July 2023 to approve commencing a tendering exercise for capital works at Newham, East Ham, and Atherton leisure centres. The decision also approved delegation of the contract award to the Corporate Director of Resources in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance. These works include mechanical and electrical replacements and upgrades with an estimated cost of £4 million.

The Director of Resources decided on an unspecified date in April 2025 to award the contract for managing agent services at Merchants Yard to Touchstone Corporate Property Services Ltd. This decision follows a procurement exercise conducted in line with council policies.

Rebecca Johnson, Corporate Director of Sustainable Transport and Environment, decided on an unspecified date to extend the concession contract for enforcement services for two years. This extension is expected to generate £2 million in income for the council.

The Council's Properties Team decided on 14 January 2026 not to progress the Walton Road site as a community garden due to its development potential. On 27 March 2026, Property Services confirmed they would work with the project lead to identify and review a potential alternative site for the community garden.
