RESOLVED
KEY DECISION
That the Executive:
a) Approved the Waste & Recycling
Policy and Strategy for tackling litter &
fly-tipping
b) Delegated authority to the Executive
Director of Place and Economy in consultation with the Executive
Member for Assets, Waste to undertake minor amendments and updates
to the policies as necessary.
Reasons for Recommendations –
• To ensure North
Northamptonshire has an agreed set of waste and recycling policies
and street cleansing policies to ensure clarity for residents on
the service standards to be delivered: The recommended course of
action is the most cost-effective.
• To enable enforcement
action to be taken where appropriate: To accord with legislation or
the policy of the Council.
Alternative Options Considered
– As all the polices have been approved by previous
decisions of the Executive, it would be possible to make no changes
or updates to the policy. The impact of this would be that the
Council’s waste policy would have some gaps in terms of the
responsibilities of service users and the mandatory requirements
under the legislation which have evolved since the Executive last
approved the documents.
