publish a final Local Transport Plan Baseline Report following

Agreed the stages and timetable
for producing the North Northamptonshire Local Transport Plan set
out in section 5 of this report.

 

b)      
Noted the findings of the public
consultation for the Local Transport Plan: Baseline
Report.

 

 

Reason for Recommendations
–
Local Transport Plans (LTPs) are
statutory documents that outline how local authorities will manage
and improve transport within their area. North Northamptonshire
Council is required to set out its plans and policies for transport
as well as how those plans and policies will be
implemented.

 

The existing Northamptonshire LTP is extremely dated
(published in 2012) and cannot now fully reflect the current and
future requirements of North Northamptonshire.

 

The timetable proposes a series of engagement opportunities
to support stakeholder and community engagement and ownership of
the plan and its preparation.

 

Alternative Options
Considered –
The option to pause preparation of
the LTP until the Department for Transport publish guidance is not
recommended because this could delay the progression of the LTP
indefinitely. If the guidance is published during the LTP
development timeframe, then an account will be taken of the new
guidance as appropriate.
